In molded and carved giltwood with oval cabriolet back. Frieze of interlacing, running along the whole frame and on the brackets of armrests in cavet. Armrests trimmed with cuffs, finished with scrolls arm brackets carved with an acanthus leaf at their base. Circular seat resting on four rare feet in inverted consoles decorated with an acanthus leaf in the upper part.

This pair of armchairs is emblematic of the production of Georges Jacob at the end of the Louis XV period, even if he is not the only one to use this type of base called "inverted console", the known examples of his production allow to attribute to him the pair of seats described above.
